Princeton University

Laboratory Assistant

In my junior year at Carleton, I assisted graduate students in Princeton University’s Geosciences department.  In particular I was focused on preparing hundreds of samples for a variety of analyses with the ultimate goal of studying conodonts within the rocks.  Conodonts are extinct chordates and important index fossils.  The most valuable part of the experience was sitting in on classes, hearing lectures from guest speakers, and interacting with the students and professors there.
